The uploading process didn't take as long as I thought!
Like I said in my last post, I've had another go with After Effects... this time with a shorter clip and simpler ambitions!
Pretty happy with how this one turned out. The laser was easier to animate than I thought, so v proud of myself for doing that.
The type and the timing needs a bit of work but that can be done!
